I have always been fascinated by what makes places unique, the effect they have on our well-being and conveying that feeling in my paintings. My impressionist paintings in oils or acrylics focus on 'Spirit of Place', that magical atmosphere that is uplifting, heart warming and intriguing.
Ancient routes and patterns in the landscape are a constant source of inspiration for me.
I return again and again to the same places to capture the atmosphere and well-being that these places bring.

"My wife and I approached Sophie earlier in the year to paint a tree for us! We have a walk that we like to do, and on that walk is a tree - a magnificent tree that takes our breath away - so we were hoping Sophie could capture something of its beauty.
